Summary
The ready room is a private office reserved for the commanding officer's use. Here, the commanding officer can engage in administrative work with all relevant office equipment at hand without interfering with bridge operations. In addition, this room is usually the preferred place where the captain can hold private discussions and/or receive classified communications.

In addition, this room is usually the preferred place where the captain can hold private discussions and/or receive classified communications. ==Layout== Rear Admiral Iluvar’s ready room aboard the USS Pandora featured a desk and small bunk. Iluvar's desk has a LCARS terminal, enabling access to the ship's main computer. One or more PADD's, providing access to all relevant data, are usually scattered around. Operating on the frontier of the Federation, Iluvar’s ready room still has much in common with those of other ships. It contains priceless and personal objects, and is decorated with a few artistic canvases, gifts bestowed to Iluvar by his adoptive family on Ba’ku. Among these were a starscape canvas, painted by Artim Ibanya, and a small model of the USS Tethys, Iluvar’s first command. To the right of the desk, along the wall, a single shelf holds several books that reflect his appreciation of literature. |
