Settling In

Awen had arrived on the Pandora earlier in the morning with the intention of getting a feel for her newest assignment. Korina (NPC) had come along with her, which had given the two more time to discuss the department while looking around. The Pandora was certainly different from the Tethys, especially tactically. They had a lot less firepower, which she wasn't thrilled about, but it just meant she'd have to be more creative and make the shots count.

The two women had decided to break about an hour ago to get their belongings from the Tethys to bring over to the Pandora. Some items had already been transported over, so it hadn't taken Awen long to get the remainder of her things and bring them over.

As the Bajoran entered her new quarters, she dropped her bag on the table nearest the door and walked over to the viewports - one of the benefits of being on the Senior Staff. Awen turned to look at the main area of her quarters. A desk and chair were in between the two entrances - she would definitely be changing that. For that matter, she wasn't entirely sure why there were two entrances anyway, but likely she'd keep one locked at all times. To the left was where the dining table and chairs were....considering it a moment, the Bajoran decided it would be best to switch the desk with the table, something for later. Under the viewports was a couch with a coffee table and some other chairs nearby. Some other tables and shelving were also scattered around the room, and a replicator was along the left wall.

Moving to the desk, Awen picked up the bag and headed for the second room. She dropped the bag on her bed and opened it, pulling out its contents. Mostly personal items spilled out - an ornate heirloom dagger, pictures of her family, some Bajoran jewelry. Picking out a picture of her family from many years ago, she gently placed it on her bedside table. Next to it, Awen placed her brother's earring and a small candle.

She moved to the main living area and found an appropriate shelf to display the heirloom dagger. Happy with its placement, Awen flanked it with two pictures, and then stepped back. Satisfied, she gave a brief nod.

There wouldn't be enough time to switch the furniture around, or to really unpack the rest of her things, but Awen didn't mind. During her time on the Tethys she'd never fully unpacked; on her previous assignments, it always seemed that she had taken the extra time to unpack but then ended up being sent to a new assignment shortly after. However, the Bajoran had to admit that she'd slowly become more comfortable in her place with the Tethys crew and, since they'd largely stayed together for the transfer to the Pandora rather than being sent on various assignments, she was more assured that her stay with this crew would last.

Hearing the doorchime, Awen turned and said, "Enter."

Korina walked into Awen's quarters and stopped just inside. "Hello again, Awen. Ready to continue our explorations?"

Awen nodded, "Let's go. I want us to cover as much as possible today; hopefully we can finish up tomorrow. We'll need to make sure the others familiarize themselves as well. I may check with Kiral; I'm sure she's found out quite a bit already."

With a final glance back at her new quarters, Awen headed out with Korina. Time to explore.
