Mission:
Episode 2.1 - "Unanswered Questions"
Location: Junior Officer's Quarters
Ensign Bok lay in his bunk thinking about all the things that had gone wrong of late. He had come to the Pandora thinking that he might be at a posting where he could move on up the ranks. The last mission had shown him he had much to learn. Bok was confident in his technical abilities. He had a certain instinct that you can't teach. But it took more than just talent to be a Chief Engineering Officer. Bok was an officer that took too many chances. If one was down to an emergency situation then perhaps taking a chance was in order. For everyday operations he needed to be more thorough. He also had to learn how to delegate. He knew he couldn't get everything done by himself. He had to rely on others. It was an engineering team. There was also teaching. He had to be sure that those whom he passed the tasks on knew what he was doing. If he wanted to be a CEO he would have to learn to be all those things.
So far he had tried to get people to know him by being the clown. That might get people to like him, but there would be no respect. He would need a hobby. Something he could share with people. He looked on the itinerary of activities on the starbase. He saw the perfect thing. Cooking classes.
He had tried this previously without success. This time it would be different. Bok would need to show that he could follow instructions if he expected others to follow him. Following the recipes would show also that he could stay within the confines of a structured environment. His instinct would be to go off on his own to experiment before he knew the ramifications. He couldn't expect someone to work with the power flows in the engine room before they knew what they did.
Yes a cooking class would be the perfect thing.
