Avoiding the Situation

Mission: Episode 2.2 - "Resistance"
Location: CSO's Office
Timeline: MD-05, 1015 hours

[[USS Pandora, CSO's Office, MD-05, 1015 hrs]]

=^=One missed subspace transmission=^= the computer announced for the third time.

Matt sighed. He knew he couldn't ignore John forever, especially if he kept leaving messages, but he also knew that if he were to answer John's calls he would have to tell him what had been going on.

Sitting down at his desk, he reluctantly opened the message screen and played Johns message.

"Hey Matt." John said through the recording. "You missed our Thursday morning talk and you haven't been answering any of my other transmissions. Is there something going on that I should know about? If it's something I've done, I can't do anything about it unless you talk to me. Please... just... call me back."

After the short but to the point message, John's image vanished from the screen and was replaced by the Federation Science Council image. =^=End of message. Delete message?=^= asked the computer.

Lowering his head slightly, Matt nodded and replied, "Yes, delete message."

The computer beeped in response and Matt leaned back in his seat. "Computer, bring up the data from Borg node one on the main screen." he said, rubbing his head slightly.

A moment later the large screen on the wall of the office became filled with borg script interspersed with English letters. At the bottom of the screen was a progress bar that was far more empty than full. =^=Decryption at Thirteen point three four percent=^= the computer announced.

"Okay... access the Starfleet Science Directory and access anything there is on Anika Hansen's notes about the Borg data nodes." Matt ordered. "Maybe there's something there that can help us."

=^=Accessing=^= The computer responded.

While the computer was downloading information, Matt began to think about John again. "I can't talk to him." he said to himself. "If he knew what we were dealing with, he'd never be able to sleep... and he'd be worrying about me even worse than he is already."

The computer beeped, signaling that it had finished downloading the files. Only one appeared on the screen. "Darn." Matt said, hoping there would be more, but opened it anyway.

Before Matt had the chance to begin reading the file, the computer beeped. =^=Incoming transmission from Earth.=^=

Matt sighed. "Great..."
