A Changing of the Guard

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Commander Earlond, who has been a long-time member of this crew and has served with me since I first assumed command of the USS Tethys, has chosen to take an extended leave of absence from Starfleet following the conclusion of our current mission. Despite a few of his more questionable decisions in the past, he has been a reliable member of this crew and a strong pillar of this community for nearly three years. I wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.

At the same time, it is my pleasure to announce that a successor to Commander Earlond has been named. Lieutenant Commander Joseph Thompson, formerly a member of the Starfleet Marine Corps and most recently having served as the Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer of the USS Draco, has recently been assigned to the USS Pandora to fill the role of Chief Security/Tactical Officer. Please join me in welcoming Lieutenant Commander Thompson aboard as he joins us at the conclusion of our current mission. I look forward to serving with him in the days, weeks, and months to come.
