An Update From the Desk of Captain Iluvar

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to take a moment to welcome aboard our three newest crewmembers. Please join me in welcoming the following individuals to our community:
Tellarite engineering officer Ensign Bok comes to us with years of simming experience including time served as the commanding officer of the USS Beowulf, Horizon Fleet's longest running movie-era simm, and the originator of the community simm currently taking part on the Horizon Fleet forums. Ensign Bok will be assuming the responsibilities of Chief Engineering Officer at the conclusion of our current mission, marking the departure of Lieutenant Jake Warrington (PNPC) and Ensign Thomas Rolands (PNPC).
Human science officer Ensign Matthew Lessly also comes to us with years of simming experience including continued service as the commanding officer of the USS Orlando, flagship of Horizon Fleet's Task Force 42. I have had the privilege of serving with this individual for several years now and am pleased to welcome him to the community of the USS Pandora. Ensign Lessly will be taking on the responsibilities of Chief Science Officer at the conclusion of our current mission.
Human weapons specialist Lieutenant JG Kell Gibson comes to us with three years of simming experience and a previous command of his own as well. A former marine executive officer, Lieutenant JG Gibson will be serving us in the role of weapons specialist and, on occasion, marine liaison officer.
In addition to our new arrivals, I would like to make everyone aware of several LOA notices I have received recently:
Lieutenant JG Hannah Andeti, our current Chief Counselor, has been forced to extend her Extended Leave of Absence through July due to a difficulty in obtaining a reliable internet connection at her present location.
Lieutenant JG Malia Jacy, our current Chief Operations Officer, has declared a Leave of Absence through at least March 6, 2011 due to real life commitments that require her attention at this time.
Since the day I assumed command of this simm, we have prided ourselves on being an open community who supports our members in a variety of ways. We anxiously await the return of those who have taken leave to deal with the commitments of their real lives with hopes that they might be back among us again soon. Remember that if you need to take a leave of absence, no matter the reason or the duration, please contact me via email, private message, or LOA request so that I might remain appraised of the situation.
