"Don't you think that we should be socializing more?" Ryan (PNPC) asked.

Trace turned around and scowled at his friend. "And why do you say that?"

"I dunno," Ryan shrugged. "Maybe because we have only been on the ship two days and both those days all you have done is work."

"I've never been in charge of an entire department before," Trace shrugged. "And there is a lot more to it then I thought there was."

He went back to work, tapping away at the display. Truthfully, he wasn't sure how it was that Aaron back on the Malinche managed to get everything done and now he was in charge of a department on a ship that was almost twice the size of the Malinche. And given the fact that the new Orlando had launched almost a month ahead of schedule, he had even more work ahead of him. Although all the tactical systems were working, they weren't yet working at full capacity.

"And it may have nothing to do with the fact that you are trying to impress our Vice Admiral of a commanding officer?"

Trace shrugged, he would never admit it to Ryan but that was part of it. He was still trying to figure out why it was that Admiral Androski wanted him for the Orlando. He didn't have much experience in ship to ship tactics, although he had picked up a lot from Aaron. He shook his head, driving those nagging thoughts out of his head.

"And what are you doing anyways?"

"Targeting sensors for the torpedoes are off," Trace said, looking at the display. "I noticed it when I was going through the pre-launch reports."

Ryan shook his head. "And thats why you got me out of bed in the morning?

"Pft," Trace said. "Not like you were doing anything in bed anyways."

"I should hit you for that," Ryan growled.

"You won't," Trace responded. "You want to open up the targeting parameters file for me since you are standing there doing nothing at the moment."

"I suppose so," Ryan said.

Trace smiled as they got to work.
