Zekk entered main engineering with a spring in his step and a cup of steaming coffee in his hand. Looking around he could see that his staff was already hard at work. Alistair (PNPC) emerged from a nearby junction, carrying a PADD and apparently very lost in thought. He looked like he actually managed to get some rest, which was odd considered he was pretty sure that he had left engineering at nearly the same time that Zekk had and he knew for a fact that he went back to that pretty young ensign's quarters. Zekk smiled, to be young again.

"Good morning Mr. Logan," Zekk smiled, striding toward the command table. "I trust that you got enough rest last night?"

"Oh yes sir," Alistair smiled. "Plenty of rest. Have you seen Jack yet?"

"Not yet, last I knew he was down in the armory working with Trace on figuring out what caused the ship to go boom."

"And not finding anything."

Zekk and Alistair turned as both Trace and Jack entered the room, neither of them looked like they had managed to sleep very much.

"I took that sample of the nanoprobes that we got to the doctor, she is still working on analyzing it," Trace said, as they gathered around the command table. "But so far she isn't any closer to a solution then we are."

"We completed a metallurgic analysis," Jack said, pulling up the analysis on one of the larger displays. "There are extreme micro-fractures throughout the hull fragments that we were able to recover, from the EPS relays that we managed to get it also looks like the ship's EPS grid was swept with high density EM bursts."

"But that wouldn't cause an explosion, at least not on this scale," Trace said. "We also didn't find any trace of known weapons fire."

"It would take a hell of a lot or weapons fire to destroy a Borg ship like this," Alistair grunted. "I'm sorry to say that we haven't made much progress in determining what kind of ship it was either."

"There has to be a way to figure that out," Zekk said, starting to walk around the table, rubbing his chin. "We know about how big the debris field is plus some of the components that we did recover."

"Thats the problem with Borg vessels," Alistair said, folding his arms across his chest. "They have interchangable parts..."

"But not all the same size parts," Trace said, looking at the engineers. "Maybe we can compare the parts that we did recover to what data we know about Borg ships. Try and back track it that way."

"That's going to take a hell of a lot of time," Alistair grunted.

"Its better then just sitting around here paddling our thumbs," Zekk nodded. He didn't notice the odd looks that he got from everyone else around the table. "Alright, Jack I want you to keep working with Trace on what caused the explosion...get back down to the cargo bay and go over everything again. Alistair, me and you are going to dive into the schematics of the Borg ships we have on file."
