Attempting the Impossible

Mission: Episode 2.2 - "Resistance"
Location: Main Engineering, USS Orlando
Timeline: Mission Day 04, 1600

"Did you tell them to that was impossible?"

Zekk arched an eyebrow at the comment that came from Jack (NPC). He knew that his staff wouldn't be happy about doing what it was that Tobias was asking them to do but at the same time felt that he didn't have a choice. The XO had given him an order and as much as he thought there wasn't going to be much in the way of information that came out of it, he had better get to work.

"I don't think it's a good idea to start telling the XO things like that," Zekk responded. "And its not impossible, nothing is impossible."

"Easy for you to say sir," Jack grumbled. "We don't have any clue as to what caused that ship to go boom."

"We don't have any clue yet," Zekk pointed out, as he started to walk around the pool table command station. "Thats sort of what Commander Naros wants to find out. Anyone seen Alistair?"

As if merely by speaking, he had summoned him, Alistair came around the corner. His uniform was slightly askew and his hair tousled, in short he looked like he had been involved in some very...interesting off duty activity when Zekk had summoned all of the engineering team.

"Catch you at a bad time?" Zekk asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Not at all sir," Alistair smiled. "Whats going on?"

Zekk gave a run down of the situation so far. Alistair was only slightly less pessimistic then Jack on the subject of finding out what it was that destroyed the Borg ship or even what kind of ship it was. Zekk knew that as soon as Ensign Vosh got done downloading the latest tactical data he would be in engineering as well, working with them to find a way to determine what it was that caused the destruction of the cube.

"Jack, I want you work with Ensign Vosh when he arrives," Zekk said. "Try and find anything on the debris or the sensors that might explain why the ship exploded. Alistair, you and I are going to attempt to figure out what kind of ship it was that did explode."

"Thats going to take awhile," Alistair said. "And I sure hope you have an idea of how to do that because I sure don't."

"I have a few," Zekk nodded. "Now come on people, lets get to work."
