Mission:
Episode 2.2 - "Resistance"
Location: Main Bridge, USS Orlando & USS Pandora
Timeline: Mission Day 03, 1732 hours
ON: [[Bridge, USS Orlando, MD-03, 1732 hours]]
Mike (NPC) checked the navigational sensors and turned to face the Admiral and the rest of the bridge. "We're coming up on the Pandora now, Admiral."
Quinn nodded from his seat at the center of the bridge. "Take us out of warp, Ensign, then bring us up along side of them." Twisting to face the tactical position, he asked, "Anything on sensors, Ensign?"
Trace took a quick look at the sensors, sweeping through both the long range and short range bandwidths. So far they had yet to come up with anything. He sort of hoped that was the way that things stayed.
"Short range and long range sensors aren't showing anything," Trace said, looking at the admiral. "If the Borg are in the area they are rigged for silent running."
The fact that they were not detecting any sign of the Borg was, at the very least, enough to get Tobias' attention. Relentless and foreboding were two common adjectives that had been used countless times to describe the Borg Collective. To consider the possibility of a Borg vessel running silent was more than a little unusual. Pausing in his assessment of the situation, Tobias glanced up momentarily from his own display to watch as the sleek form of the Luna-class USS Pandora came into view on the main viewscreen.
Zekk probably should have stayed in engineering but he knew that if anything major came up his team would let him know. Plus, being on the bridge would be a great way to get a heads up shooting started, it would give him time to activate the battery system should they need it. Although if they were in fact, facing the Borg, they would more than likely need it.
As much as he trusted the sensors, Trace couldn't shake the idea that something was wrong. He ran another sweep, and like before, came up with nothing. He rechecked the weapons status again, just to make sure that all the modifications that they had made were holding together.
So far so good, Trace thought to himself.

"Sir, the Orlando has arrived," Joe announced from his station.
"Onscreen," Iluvar said, turning his attention to the forward viewscreen as the sleek form of the Legacy-class starship dropped out of warp with a flash of light. It was a far cry from the previous incarnation of the USS Orlando, despite its somewhat familiar features, but was no less fitting for the commanding officer of a Starfleet task force.
Evans stood between the mission ops station and the science alcove, pacing a step or two once in a while. Like everyone else, the prospect of the Borg made him feel just a little unsettled. He wanted to see for himself, just for reassurance he supposed, when they rendezvoused with the Orlando. And there she was on the viewscreen. She was designed as a diplomatic cruiser, but Michael thought she looked like she could pack a whollop if she needed to. He felt better having her around.
Matt looked at the view screen as the large, visibly new, Legacy-class starship came up on the Pandora. "Quite the ship." he said, partly to himself, though loud enough to be heard by several of the bridge crew. *No wonder it took the whole San Francisco Shipyards to get it off the line early.* he thought.
All Kell could do was whistle as he looked at the screen. She was a beautiful ship, that was for sure. Flowing lines, yet powerful.
Adjusting his uniform jacket, Iluvar shifted slightly in his chair before saying, "Open a channel to the Orlando."

"Incoming transmission from the Pandora sir," Trace reported. "Patching it through now."
Quinn nodded towards the tactical officer has he stood and ordered, "On screen, Ensign."
A moment later the view screen shifted from an outer view of the Pandora to a view of the main bridge with the ships' commander on in the center.
"Good evening, Captain." Quinn greeted the Pandora's commander.
[[Bridge, USS Pandora]]
"The same to you, admiral," Iluvar replied, a warm smile appearing briefly upon his face, "I only wish we were meeting under better circumstances."
[[Bridge, USS Orlando]]
Better circumstances meaning anything then when dealing with the Borg, Zekk thought to himself. He pulled up an exterior scan of the Pandora. She was a Luna class, a vessel that Zekk had read a great deal about. Before Androski had manage to wrestle him aboard the Orlando, he had considered moving onto a Luna class. But as it were, he was happy that he got to stay with the ship that he and his engineering team had taken so much time in getting all the kinks worked out.
"I think that's a statement that we all share," Trace said quietly.
Zekk turned back to his display, checking on the shield modifications and weapons modifications that they had managed to make on their way to meet with the Pandora. So far everything appeared to be online...he just hoped that they wouldn't have to use them.
Quinn nodded towards the view screen and Captain Iluvar. "We'll just have to make some time to chat after we've dealt with the Borg signal you detected."
[[Bridge, USS Pandora]]
"I look forward to it," Iluvar replied, his smile fading somewhat, "I'm sure we will have much to discuss. However, I think we'd both agree even the remotest possibility of a Borg presence in this region is the last thing anyone wants or needs right now."
[[Bridge, USS Orlando]]
"Agreed. I don't like the idea of letting the Borg sit any longer than necessary." Quinn responded. "If you'll lay in a course for the location of the signal, we'll do the same and we can discuss strategy en route."
[[Bridge, USS Pandora]]
"Acknowledged," Iluvar said, tilting his head ever so slightly, "Pandora out."
The image of the Orlando's bridge vanished from the main viewscreen, replaced by that of her sleek exterior as the Legacy-class starship slowly began banking toward her new heading. Iluvar knew they had already lost precious time waiting to make the rendezvous, necessary as it was, and that the sooner they got on the road, the better.
"Lay in a course for the source of the transponder signal," he ordered, adjusting his uniform jacket again, "I want to be alerted at the first sign of Borg activity."
"Aye, sir," Joe said, already resuming active tactical scans for any indicators of the Borg. He was glad they were able to make way now; it was one thing to wait for necessary reinforcements and planning, but if they waited much longer they risked losing the initiative in finding out what exactly was going on here - especially if there were Borg ships that knew the Federation ships were there.
Evans, no longer pacing, exchanged a quick glance with one of the other officers. "Here we go," he thought.
